The third development axis – north includes the construction of a new four lane road from the Šentrupert access on the A1 motorway (Šentilj–Koper), via Velenje, to the Slovenj Gradec South access. The total length of the expressway is 31.5 km and is divided into two sections.

Section I is 14 km long and runs from the Šentrupert access to the Velenje South access.

The second section, with a length of 17.5 km, runs from the Velenje South junction to the Slovenj Gradec South junction and is divided into sections: Gaberke, Jenina, Škalsko jezero, Konovo, Škale, Velunja, and Podgorje.

On the third development axis North, 8 bridges, 26 viaducts, 5 double-tube and 1 single-tube tunnel, 8 interchanges, 3 galleries, 4 cut-and-covers, 11 overpasses, 15 underpasses, a pedestrian underpass, and the Podgorje rest area on both sides of the expressway will be built.

26 VIADUCTS WILL BE BUILT ON THE 31.5 KM EXPRESSWAY.
