EASTERN TUNNEL TUBE OF THE KARAVANKE MOTORWAY TUNNEL
The total length of the new eastern tunnel tube of the Slovenian-Austrian Karavanke motorway tunnel is 7,948 m. On the Slovenian side, the tunnel is 3,546 m long, including 3,446 m of underground construction and 100 m of construction gallery.
A portal building was additionally constructed at the entrance to the eastern tube of the Karavanke Tunnel; 620 meters of the missing highway, connecting to the existing highway in the area of the Hrušica toll station, three bridges, two retaining walls, and a support wall were also constructed. A helipad is constructed in the area of the platform.
450,500 M 3 HAVE BEEN EXCAVATED DURING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TUNNEL, I.E. ENOUGH MATERIAL TO FILL 171 OLYMPIC SWIMMING POOLS.
