EASTERN TUNNEL TUBE OF THE KARAVANKE MOTORWAY TUNNEL
The total length of the new eastern tunnel tube of the Slovenian-Austrian Karavanke motorway tunnel is 7,948 m. On the Slovenian side, the tunnel is 3,546 m long, including 3,446 m of underground construction and 100 m of construction gallery.
In addition to the eastern tube, there are additional construction for the building at the tunnel entrance, the 620 m of missing motorway, which connects to the existing motorway in the area of the Hrušica toll station, is built; there are 3 bridges, 2 retaining walls, and a support wall. A helipad is constructed in the area of the platform.
450,000 M3 WILL BE EXCAVATED DURING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TUNNEL, I.E. ENOUGH MATERIAL TO FILL 171 OLYMPIC SWIMMING POOLS.
