REDUCING FLOOD RISK IN THE DRAVA RIVER BASIN – PTUJ DRAVA AREA
The planned measures will contribute to reducing flood risk and providing long-term protection for residents and infrastructure in the Drava River basin, in the Ptuj Drava area, in the municipalities of Ptuj, Duplek, Starše, and Maribor. In the long term, these measures will also limit the impact of climate change on the flood risk in the area.
The measures are divided into five sections: section 1 covers improvements to the Rogoznica stream and the construction of the Žabjak retention basin in the municipality of Ptuj; section 2 covers the reduction of flood risk in the village of Trčova; section 3 covers the renaturation of the Drava River and the widening of the Krčevina channel near Vurberk, section 4 covers the renaturation of the Drava River and the widening of the Dvorjane–Loka channel near Rošnja, and section 5 covers reducing the flood risk in the southwestern part of Maribor and regulating the Radvanjski potok stream with the Mrzli potok stream.
