Celje waste water treatment plant treats waste water of the city of Celje and the surrounding villages and is one of the most important development projects for residents of the city near the Savinja River.

It creates better conditions for economic and tourism development, improves the quality of the Savinja River and conditions in the rivers Savinja and Voglajna Rivers for resettlement of high quality fishes. The capacity of the plant is 85,000 PE (population equivalents). The project was co-financed by the European Union.
