NOVA GORICA RAILWAY STATION
Together, Nova Gorica and Gorizia were the European Capital of Culture in 2025. To this end, the railway station in Nova Gorica was upgraded and a new underpass was built under the new railway tracks with access to the platform infrastructure. The underpass is located to the north of the station building, which, in addition to providing access to the platforms, connects Europe Square (Trg Evrope) with Nova Gorica and Gorizia.
Within the upgrade of the Nova Gorica Railway Station, track devices, platform infrastructure with grade-separated access to platforms, and signalling safety systems and telecommunication devices were renovated. A new car park was planned, as well as a bus stop on the east side of the station, which created a new multimodal interchange point.
THE RENOVATED RAILWAY STATION IN NOVA GORICA WAS ONE OF THE MAIN VENUES DURING THE EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE IN 2025.
